At Envirowaste Services, we are not just a crew. We are a championship team. We show up, pull our weight, and look out for each other. This means we do not call off for every little thing like a sore knee or a sick dog. We understand that unexpected things happen, but frequent or casual call-offs hurt the team and will be addressed.
Be On Time. Employees must be at the shop 5 minutes before the designated start time. Being punctual shows respect for your team and keeps operations running smoothly.
Communicate Clearly. Notify your supervisor ahead of time if you are running late, need time off, or have a schedule change. Good communication builds trust and helps us stay organized.
Dress Appropriately. Employees must wear clothing that is suitable for the season and in line with our dress code policy. Your gear should keep you safe and comfortable for the workday ahead.
Work at a Reasonable Pace. Your pace should reflect experience and effort. Routes should be completed efficiently, with care taken for conditions like weather and traffic.
Be Pleasant and Professional. Get along with coworkers and treat others with respect. A good attitude keeps the workday smoother and more enjoyable for everyone.
No Substance Use. Working under the influence of drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited. Tobacco use is not allowed in trucks or inside the shop.
2. Route Guidelines
Be Courteous. Respect other drivers and be polite if you interact with customers.
Clean Up Messes. Leave every stop clean. If animals get into the trash overnight, clean it up within reason. If you make a mess, clean it up without being told.
Place Cans Back Neatly. Company cans should be placed upright, lid closed, and handle facing away from the road. Customer cans should be upright and out of the way, ideally 3 feet off the road in the grass unless the customer has other instructions. Never block a driveway.
Wear PPE. Protective gloves and Hi-Vis gear are required while on route.
Be Cautious Around Roads. Stay alert when crossing streets or walking beside the truck. Look twice and never assume traffic will stop.
Use Mirrors and Cameras. Always monitor surroundings, especially when backing up.
Limit Cell Phone Use. Phones should be used only for essential tasks like navigation. If you need to talk, use a Bluetooth headset while driving.
4. Dress Code
Uniform and Gear. Hi-Vis gear is provided. Employees also receive a bonus on each paycheck that can be used for boots or other gear needed and for medical expenses.
Seasonal Clothing. Dress appropriately for the weather. Winter work requires warm layers. Summer gear such as shorts or sleeveless shirts may be allowed if it is safe.
Safety Visibility. Hi-Vis shirts or vests are required at all times. At night or in low visibility, Hi-Vis reflective outerwear must be worn.
5. Employee Benefits
We work hard and we take care of our team. Full-time employees receive:
Paid Vacation. Paid time off that you earn as you work, about two weeks per year. You may begin using it after six months of continuous employment.
Boot, Clothing, and Medical Allowance. Use toward work gear or medical expenses.
Hi-Vis Safety Gear Provided. Safety vests and shirts are issued to each employee.
Retirement Plan (SIMPLE IRA). Once you meet the plan's eligibility requirements, you can contribute to a SIMPLE IRA and the company contributes on your behalf. Ask the Owner for the current eligibility details and to enroll.
Overtime Pay. 1.5x pay for hours worked beyond 40 per week.
Performance-Based Raises. Annual reviews to recognize and reward strong performance.
Referral Bonus Program. Bonuses for referring qualified candidates who are hired.
Stable Schedule. Monday through Friday routes only. Weekend work is only required after major holidays.
Advancement Opportunities. Hard work and reliability are noticed and rewarded.
Free Trash Service. Residential service is free for employees within our service area.
6. Paid Time Off (PTO)
You earn PTO as you work, at a rate of one day for every five weeks worked. Over a full year this comes to about two weeks, or ten days. PTO begins accruing from your start date. You may begin using accrued PTO after six months of continuous employment.
The following rules apply to your PTO balance:
Your balance carries over from year to year, up to a cap of 15 days.
At year-end, any balance above the 15-day cap is bought back at your current pay rate times 8 hours per day. You do not lose earned PTO.
Requesting Time Off
Send a text message to the Owner with the dates you want off. Request at least two weeks in advance whenever possible. The earlier the better, especially around holidays and peak times. Sick days and emergencies are exceptions, so notify the Owner as soon as you reasonably can.
7. At-Will Employment
Employment with Envirowaste Services LLC is at-will. This means that either you or the company may end the employment relationship at any time, with or without notice, and with or without cause. Nothing in this handbook is intended to create a contract of employment or to alter the at-will nature of your employment.

Envirowaste Services is committed to providing a workplace free from discrimination and harassment. We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
